What Should I Do If My Vehicle Breaks Down?
If you experience a breakdown during your rental:
- Park the vehicle safely.
- Ensure you and your fellow rider are safe.
- Contact Travel Beyond Himalayas immediately.
- Share your exact location.
- Explain what happened.
- If requested, send us photos or a short video of the vehicle.
The more information you provide, the faster we can assist you.
What Happens Next?
Our response depends on the condition of the vehicle. If it's safe to ride, we'll usually ask you to return it to our office so our team can inspect it properly. If it cannot be safely ridden due to a mechanical failure, we'll arrange assistance — where appropriate and subject to availability, our team may bring a replacement vehicle so you can continue your journey with minimal disruption.
Who Pays for Repairs?
This depends on what caused the problem.
Mechanical or Electrical Failure — If the breakdown is caused by a genuine mechanical or electrical fault in the vehicle, Travel Beyond Himalayas takes full responsibility. You won't be charged for repairs resulting from normal mechanical failure.
Accident, Negligence or Misuse — If the breakdown results from an accident, negligent riding, misuse of the vehicle, or physical damage caused during the rental, the customer is responsible for the applicable repair costs. Repair charges are determined fairly based on a workshop assessment rather than guesswork — see damage policy.
